Anthropic's AI development speed has doubled despite CEO's call to slow down, analysis finds

An outside analysis by METR estimates Anthropic is improving its models' ability to perform well-specified tasks about twice as fast as a year ago, even after CEO Dario Amodei called for the industry to slow down in a Sept. 12 essay.
