A team of veteran developers has recompiled Donkey Kong 64 in C, so it runs natively on Windows, Linux, and Mac. The entire project is free, uses no generative AI, but still includes more features than any vibecoded retro revival slop you can find online. You do need to bring your own ROM, though.
