How many gens to get the right one?

I’m kinda new to this. I learn more everyday, I think I’m doing pretty good. I know it’s unrealistic to think every queue is gonna be perfect. Just out of curiosity, when you have a real vision of what you want, how many gens does it take before you actually get “the one”?
