Huawei tells some clients to source their own HBM for Ascend 960DT chip, report says

Huawei has told some customers that its next flagship AI chip, the Ascend 960DT, will rely largely on Samsung and SK Hynix memory, requiring clients to source HBM themselves, The Information reported. US export rules bar both South Korean firms from supplying it.
