Why am I struggling with popular coding harnesses? Am I missing something?

I've been using opencode, pi, roo (now zoo), and similar projects that I see popping up in this community and others. I have very bad results with them, and, compared to Claude Code, the workflow seems almost non-existent beyond just being an LLM with some terminal access and a terrible editing too…
