Why does Ai Pro default to flash-lite?

I got Pro my family members installed Gemini. Looks like all of them setting up a new account it defaults to Lite even if they have Pro subscription. Most of them don’t even know what the different models are so they’d just be using Lite unless I change it manually for them. Seems stupid to default…
