Google extends voluntary buyout offers to employees in several countries

Google confirmed it began offering voluntary exit packages in June 2026 to employees in Canada, France, Germany, Japan and Switzerland, expanding a severance program as it reins in costs amid heavy AI spending. Microsoft last week offered buyouts to 60,000 employees.
