NVLink benefits? 2x 3090, PCIe 4.0 x16 PCIe 3.0 x2

I have 2x 3090, trying to get the best inference performance from these but I believe I'm bottlenecked at the PCIe speeds I can get out of my motherboard. I can't seem to get a solid answer on if an NVLink would benefit me, and if so if it would benefit me more than just getting a better motherboar…
